Our Story...
At the risk of showing
our age, we are proud to share that we are a Coffee Meets Bagel success story! We met
for the first time at City Winery on the Chicago river on a beautiful summer day,
enjoying each other's company and the good vibes that came with the advent of COVID
vaccines and the world re-opening.
🤓 Simon:
"Anthropologists that look back on this time in dating history will probably scratch their heads when they learn that the key to securing a first date with a beautiful girl is to... invite her to discuss which Marvel character she thinks would be a lousy coworker over a drink."
👩🏻 Kathie:
"Simon was kind enough to pick a location that was close to my office. I ended up making a last minute decision to work from home that day and almost called the date off but didn't because I wanted to try City Winery 😂."
As first dates go, the winery trip was a solid A / A- and as fun as it was, it was the spontaneous decision to extend the date by going to a dive bar to watch the NBA draft that really revealed the depth of our connection. Cheap beer, sticky floors, and K-Ci & JoJo playing on TouchTunes formed the unlikely backdrop for the moment that we both knew we had found something special.

"I thought putting 'All My Life' by K-Ci & JoJo on the jukebox was a move Simon used on all girls!"

"It was not."
Since then, the rest truly was history - we've shared countless more dates, traveled to many destinations, and created many treasured memories together, each cementing the feelings and qualities that drew us to each other.
